Christmas Rappin' was Kurtis Blow's first single and the first Hip-Hop single released at a major record label in 1979.
Mercury Records signed Blow for 2 singles contract - after both singles become a success (the second is 'The Breaks') - Mercury signed Kurtis Blow for a full LP album (his debut album, self titled).
