"Hypnotize" was Biggie's 1st single released as the lead single out of "Life After Death" in April 2007 (Biggie died in May 21 while "Hypnotize" were already a huge hit).

The beat made by D-Dot (Deric Michael Angelettie) based on Herb Alpert's "Rise" with no hook. D-Dot have told in interview that Biggie heard the beat at the studio with Lil' Cease with out Puffy, Biggie refused to call him D-Dot, and while listening to the beat B.I.G said:
"Heyo Deric! This shit is crazy! This is my first single" and after a minute started to sing "Biggie Biggie Bigge Can't You See? Sometimes Your Words Just Hypnotize Me" (Based on "La Di Da Di" of course).
