On Primo's twitter, Premier wrote that Guru is on his way to a surgery and everyone needs to pray for Guru.

The rapper been known for almost 3 decades as the MC and half of the classic hip hop duo "Gang Starr" along with DJ Premier (Primo).

Guru been releasing a few solo LPs, most known for his solo series "Jazzmatazz". Guru first released "12 singles at the mid 80's with DJ Mark the 45 King.

Guru been recording almost 200 tracks with Primo's beats on, and much other tracks with other producers on his solo albums.
